Toronto Feminist Porn Awards | Toronto International Porn Festival 2018

Panel discussions on;

• WHAT IS ETHICAL PORN
• SEX WORK AND #METOO
• TRANS & BIPOC VISIBILITY IN PORN
@torontoipf @goodforherstore

I had the pleasure to speak on two panels at this year’s festival.

I particularly loved @robyn.sparklesqt thoughts on the #MeToo Panel Discussion and how the intersection of marginalised identities also make folks vulnerable to abuse.

~ Abuse doesn’t always look like the stereotype; “cis Man & cis Woman scenario”. And how do we approach and address #MeToo when victims don’t fall into the traditional “victim stereotype”.

• SEX WORK AND #METOO Panel:
Sex workers have been felt left out of the conversation around #MeToo. Many are afraid to speak up in public due to the backlash and often suffer consequences by contacting police. How can the #MeToomovement be more inclusive of the voices and specific needs of sex workers?

• WHAT IS ETHICAL PORN Panel:
There is much discussion about feminist, ethical, alternative and indie porn. Hear from performers and producers about what makes an ethical film from recruitment to negotiation to on screen and post-production. Featuring @fatimamechtab@therooster_x and @icywintershow @Carlyle Jansen

• TRANS & BIPOC VISIBILITY IN PORN Panel:
There is a lack of representation of many marginalized communities in feminist or alternative porn and the representation in mainstream films often plays upon stereotypes and/or fetishization. Hear from directors and performers about what industry and consumers can do to increase the visibility of trans and BIPOC performers on screen.
